The beginning of July sees Venus enter Taurus, the best possible journey for the planet of pleasure and peace. An earthier experience is available to those who seek it at the start of July. This could look like taking time to smell the roses, indulging in fashion, art and good food, but on a deeper level Venus is rejuvenation and healing of the heart. If you have planets in Taurus in the vedic system (Gemini in western) then this transit will help you open your heart and connect.
Venus will spend the first portion of July in Krittika, which is ruled by Agni the fire god, so the sensuality is paired with a good dose of purification to add to the cleansing focus of this Moon Cycle which began with the New Moon in Ardra on June 25th. Check back in with the current moon cycle reading which lasts until July 24th to understand the deeper currents at play.
Mercury is in Cancer all month long, and will begin a retrograde in the kundalini serpent nakshatra Ashleesha on July 17th.
Watch out for emotions or thoughts that distract from the truth. Mercury in Ashleesha can get tangled if left unfocussed. The best way to make the most of this transit (it only comes around once a year) is to focus your mind on something important. Learning, research, yoga practice and meditation are all bound to give richer rewards while Mercury is in Ashleesha. This is the nakshatra of hidden wisdom and knowledge. It is also a sexual nakshatra, so it’s a great time to practice tantra either solo or with another.

On July 10th Venus is exactly at the point of the New Moon on May 27th, fertilising your key intentions born in this cycle.
July 17th - Mercury stations retrograde. Until August 10th Mercury will now be in retrograde moving from Ashleesha back into Pushya, from a seductive, strategic and mysterious constellation to a selfless, nourishing and honourable nakshatra. Watch this space for more details. Expect emotional healing, integration of the past, and deep realisations.
July 24th - New Moon in Cancer (Pushya) Sitting exactly opposite Pluto, this New Moon is in the constellation of the priest Brihaspati, and is known as one of the most noble nakshatras, relating to abundance, nourishment and selflessness. Expect things to change in deep and noticeable ways, as the speed of things slows down with Mercury retrograde.
July 28th - Mars enters Virgo. For anyone working throughout the end of July and the month of August, this is the time to examine the details of something, as Mars enters Virgo, helping you stay healthy and ahead of the game pre-fall.
